Gamete anomalies are referred to as bija upa tapa, or innate irregularities. resulting in reproductory framework structural and developmental inconsistencies. According to Ayurveda, sperm disease, or sukra dosha, is one of the primary causes of male infertility: Important morbidity can be attributed to the following:

Food factors: Excessive consumption of dry, strong, astringent, pungent, acidic, and hot foods on a regular basis Food sources that fluctuate according to location, time, digestive power, quantity, propensity, doshas, and cooking methods

Behavioral factors : Male infertility in ayurveda is also defined based upon behavioral aspects. Excessive sexual extravagance, untimely sexual encounters, sexually abusive behaviors, outright sexual forbearance, significant effort in excess, concealment of normal desires, and sexual encounters with a woman who is unresponsive and unstimulated are all examples of these behaviors. Behaviors like staying up late at night and living a cluttered and hectic life lead to imbalances in Rakta and Pitta Dosha, ultimately resulting in Shukra kshaya, such as a lack of Shukra Dhatu, which has a negative impact on both quantity and quality.

Psychological factors : The primary contributors are stress, nervousness, dread, outrage, and a lack of shared love and confidence. Shukra kshaya, or a lack of enough Shukra Dhatu in terms of both its quality and quantity, is often caused by habits that keep people up late at night and lifestyle choices that cause stress and anxiety.


Psychological disturbances, a lack of sukra, unhealthy eating, old age, mental health issues, crippling diseases (such as tuberculosis and diabetes), excessive stress, and excessive sexual pleasure have been identified as contributing factors to the quantitative and qualitative decrease in sukra.

 Shandtva Dosha: The vitiation of Shukra by Tridoshas is the cause of this condition. According to Charaka and Sushruta, there are eight such circumstances that lead to infertility. Soumyadhatukshaya and shukra are vitiated by excessive consumption or certain dietary factors, such as Katu-Amla-Lavana Atisevana, which may cause infertility if shukara levels are low. Bhavamishara thought about it and came to the conclusion that the aforementioned factor might be the cause of Pittavruddhi leading to Shukrakshaya.

Vyadhijanita Sanskrit: Because they are caused by Dhatukshaya and vata dosha, certain diseases like Vataroga, Marmacheda, Medhrarogas, and Rajayakshama are associated with Shukraksaya.

Jarasambhavaja Handtva: The Vridhavasta, or old age, is the mother of Dhatukshaya and Shukrakshaya. Avrashyasevana is supposedly a major cause for it too.. Vridhavasta, which is largely accompanied by Vata-vridhi and Kaphakshaya, produces Dhatuk-shaya and Shukrakshaya.

Diseases: Particularly noteworthy is the fact that male infertility can be caused by STIs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, and ureoplasma. Varicocephalus: When the veins of the scrotal sac become larger, this condition affects the quality and production of sperm as well as the temperature of the testicles.
